Organization Development (OD)

Organization development (OD) refers to the process through which the overall performance, growth, and effectiveness of an organization is enhanced through strategic, deliberate, and integrated initiatives. The interesting and complex area of OD incorporates four academic disciplines: psychology, sociology, anthropology, and management.

OD does not happen haphazardly. Instead, it represents a systematic, planned, and usually multifaceted approach to organizational enhancement. OD interventions are intended to identify an organization's competitive advantages and to ensure the organization's success.
