Qualitative and Quantitative Methods and Tools for Analysis, Interpretation, and Decision-Making Purposes

As stated throughout the chapter, and as is true for our profession, HR decisions are business decisions. As such, they mandate a structured and deliberate “businesslike” analysis.

An early part of any analysis is identifying the problem that needs to be solved. This is not always as easy as it seems, as symptoms often disguise themselves as problems. From there, careful data collection and data analysis is undertaken, and conclusions are drawn.

Different types of analyses can be clustered into two categories:
