The original idea to write PHP Solutions came from Chris Mills, my editor for many years at Apress/friends of ED, who’s now a Senior Technical Writer at Mozilla Corporation and a passionate advocate of web standards. Chris wanted to move away from the cookbook formula of isolated solutions that left the reader with little or no idea about the practical use of a particular technique.
