Installing Apache and PHP can be done in two ways. The easiest way is to install the precompiled binary packages of the software. The second way is to compile the packages yourself. This is more complicated than installing the binaries, but it will help you to gain flexibility.

PHP can be used in combination with a variety of Web servers on Unix and Windows.
