phpMyAdmin

I’ve mentioned phpMyAdmin several times already in this book and with good reason: It’s one of the best applications out there written in PHP that interacts with a MySQL database. In fact, its entire purpose is to interact with MySQL, giving the user a Web-based system for administering a database.

The software was started by the good people at www.phpwizard.net (Figure B.1), although it has since moved onto the SourceForge system (www.sourceforge.net). The latest version can be downloaded through www.phpmyadmin.net (Figure B.2).
