Installing PHP with Apache on Linux

Linux, being another open source product like PHP and Apache, is a natural operating system for Web servers. The difficulties that can occur in setting up a Linux server are insignificant once you factor in the long-run ease of use and stability that the platform offers: Unix Web servers have been known to run for months without ever crashing or needing to be rebooted. On top of this, most software you'll want to install on a Linux computer will be free or open source (meaning you can access the application code, too). This isn't always the case, though, because the PDFlib and other libraries require fees, so be sure to check the applicable licenses for any application you might use.
