Foreword

In a digital world, the blend of nature and digital is an interesting one. When looked at with a wide perspective, change in nature comes at an incredibly slow pace. Sitting on your porch watching the grass grow is nothing. How about watching a glacier advance (or retreat) across a frigid landscape? Or the motion of tectonic plates building mountains? Nature, by and large, never seems to be in a hurry.

If only that were true with photography. Compared to nature, photography develops with blinding speed. And we don't even need to limit the discussion to digital photography for this to be the case.
