4.4. Summary
In this chapter you learned about the Camera Raw dialog box and the RAW image format. I examined the pros and cons of the RAW format and discussed the workflow that is often used when processing RAW images. I also talked about the DNG format and the benefits of a nonproprietary raw image format. I covered the tools that take advantage of the vast amount of data that the RAW format includes to adjust areas such as contrast, exposure, white balancing, sharpening and noise, highlights, and shadows.
This chapter also discussed how you can apply the same edits across a batch of images, as well as how to save a set of adjustments as a preset to apply to other images later or automatically apply as default adjustments to images from a certain camera brand.
You also learned how to save your final adjusted images in various widely compatible file formats.
