Part IV. Power Photoshop

Power Photoshop

This part is more specialized than the others in the book. These two chapters cover features of Photoshop that you might never need.

Chapter 16 shows you how to streamline some of your work with Photoshop's automation commands. You also read about recording Actions and get a quick look at using scripting to automate Photoshop. Keep in mind thatChapter 16 also includes information on printing multiple images on a single sheet of paper — saving both time and money!

If you purchased Photoshop as part of a "Suite" or "Bundle" (integrated Adobe programs, designed to work together), you might have Photoshop CS3 Extended, or you might have intentionally purchased the Extended version. Chapter 17 takes a look at the highly specialized tools for science, medicine, research, rotoscoping, and 3D included with Photoshop CS3 Extended. (If you have Photoshop CS3 rather than Photoshop CS3 Extended, you can skipChapter 17 altogether. Or, perhaps, take a look at the complex and perhaps confusing features that you'll likely never miss.)
