Magnifying an Object

I saw this popular effect recently in a Xerox print ad that ran in USA Today. When I took a close look at the ad, not only was the magnification effect created from scratch, but the magnifying glass as well. It's actually very simple, thanks to Felix Nelson (the photo-realistic genius guy) who figured out the gradients you'll need to create a realistic magnifying glass. (Note: If nothing else, you'll want to keep Felix's great metal gradients for future use.)
