A Brief Overview

Any complete workflow has dozens of different tasks. To simplify, I’ve broken an overall workflow into a series of stages. Each major workflow stage has its own chapter in this section, with several tasks within it, many of which can be performed easily in a few minutes. Although each stage may have two or three software choices, keep in mind these rules:

• Shoot in raw, unless you’re shooting snaps.
• Like most professionals, do as many of your adjustments as possible in Lightroom or, if you haven’t yet adopted Lightroom, Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).
• When those tools become less efficient or insufficient, turn to the majesty of Photoshop.
