When I got my first 35mm SLR camera, I shot a lot of black-and-white film. Even back in the early 80s this was unusual; I had a difficult time finding a film processor that would work with black and white. Still, I thought the results were worth the trouble—and I still do. There’s something about a good black-and-white photo; black and white is timeless and imparts a certain gravity to the subject.
