Representing Beauty without Being Shallow

Those who do not have much experience with photography are generally happy when they view photographs of beautiful subjects, such as of a stunning sunset or colorful flowers. If you have devoted yourself intensively over a long time to the art of photography, these types of images may no longer bring you artistic satisfaction. Why is this? One explanation is that sunrises or sunsets are truly magnificent sights: any photo taken would pale in comparison. Because of this, photographs of sunsets or pretty flowers leave a somewhat shallow impression on the viewer.
