Photographing Lakes

I love photographing lakes because they offer an enormous number of creative possibilities. You can often focus on the lake itself (think minimalism) and produce very artistic photos. On the other hand, you’ll find that the sand, boats, people walking along the shore, swimmers, water sports, beach activities, and structures (the list could go on) make for fantastic shots. Almost everything at a lake is photogenic in one way or another.

Photographing lakes can be quite an adventure. You can get in the water to take shots without fear of getting washed away. You can also stand on the shore or get on the water in a boat or platform.
