The main validation criteria widely recommended by various regulatory documents (ICH, FDA, European Union) and commonly used in analytical laboratories are:

  • Specificity-selectivity.

  • Linearity.

  • Precision (repeatability and intermediate precision).

  • Accuracy (trueness).

  • Measurement error (total error).

  • Limit of detection (LOD).
