3-Methyl-2-Benzothiazolinone Hydrazone (MBTH)

INTRODUCTION

3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone was first synthesised by Besthorn in 1910. Huning and Fritsch has described the oxidative coupling of this reagent with phernds, aromaticamines, heterocyclic-based compounds containing active methylenegroup to form highly coloured products in 1957. In 1961, Saltlicki et al. introduced MHTH into analytical chemistry.
