Configuring SMTP e-mail notifications

This recipe describes how to configure SMTP settings to send notification e-mails.

Getting ready

Sending e-mails from pfSense requires access to an SMTP server

How to do it...

  1. Browse to System | Advanced.
  2. Click the Notifications tab.
  3. Enter the IP Address of the E-Mail server.
  4. Enter the SMTP Port of the E-Mail server.
  5. Enter the From e-Mail address.
  6. Enter the Notification E-Mail address.
  7. Enter the Notification E-Mail auth username.
  8. Enter the Notification E-Mail auth password.
    How to do it...
  9. Save the changes.
  10. Apply changes, if necessary.
