7. Portraits: Beyond the Numbers

Olympic runner Allyson Felix shot in a studio. For this photo we built a 32-foot ramp of plywood with a crashpad at the bottom. The background is a hand-painted rental. To capture this sort of movement with complete sharpness, you need to use strobe lights with very short durations: I used Elinchrom 500R Monoblock units here.
