Enhancing Depth by Shading & Texturing
These rocks and distant trees are drawn in ink line only—the direction of the lines suggest depth. However, it is difficult to show much perspective depth in line form when the objects are irregular.
The same rocks and trees have been shaded and textured with an HB pencil. Notice that the tree on the left appears more distant than the larger one because it is a lighter tone.
