Although a road or path leading up to a building may seem a minor part of a picture, properly done it can be very effective in suggesting depth in the scene and in describing the flatness or hilliness of the landscape. At right is a scene with no obvious means of getting to the house, built by the bozo who did my house, no doubt. Below that are three alternative paths one might use to lead up to the house.
