One of my favorite things to learn is new apps, gadgets, and services that can make my life easier or less complicated, or save me time. In this last chapter of the book, I share my favorites and give you some ideas for ways to use them to improve your productivity and your effectiveness.
Providing a list like this is challenging because the number of tools available is huge and the tools change rapidly. Also, the same product can vary slightly or completely, depending on your platform and your device and sometimes on your location. However, most combinations of devices (computers and smartphones) offer enough selection that if you can’t find the exact item I reference, a quick Internet or app store search will likely provide something similar.
These recommendations fall into three categories: hardware, apps and software, and services. Hardware includes the devices themselves—for example smartphones and tablets; products built into these devices, such as a camera and mp3 player; and peripheral devices or accessories, such as a speaker or special cable.
The apps and software category includes programs for your computer, smartphone, or tablet that are available for download onto your device from a website or from an online store for apps.
