Python is portable

Python is supported on a huge range of platforms and like Perl is open source so you can read the source and compile it for yourself. Python comes in both source and precompiled formats for Unix, Windows, and MacOS and the latter platforms include the Tk libraries as standard. For all other platforms Python is available as source code which you compile yourself.
