PHASE 2: CREATE

Through scorecard development sessions, you and your management team create a scorecard, determining key result areas and associated measures. The key result areas are derived from your business strategies and are unique to your organization, but typically include areas similar to the following:

  • Financial Success
  • Customer Loyalty
  • Market Leadership
  • Employee Development
  • Operational Effectiveness
  • Community Impact

Also, you begin compiling the baseline for your scorecard measures and build momentum toward achieving your targets and goals. Steps for the Create Phase are explained in Chapter 4.
