Team performance management is predicated on the following three principles:

Team behaviours are different from individual behaviours

It is not important for us to understand what an individual does in a team, rather it is important to know what team does collectively. The differences between the individual's behaviour in a team, and the collective behaviours of a team, depend on factors like the environment they work in, or the team processes they use for communicating, deciding, rewarding, etc.
