Assessment Point 1: Organizational Precursors

The purpose of evaluating organizational precursors and administering the organizational precursor scale (OPS) is to first gather a baseline measure of current performance management behaviors and, second, to determine what should be emphasized during the training phase of the performance management system (Silverman, Pogson, & Cober, 2005). Organizations that support individual change will be better able to facilitate change in the organization (Mauer, Mitchell, & Barbeite, 2002).
