INTELLIGENCE GATHERING FOR DECISION MAKING

Good decision making is guided by intelligence gathering. However, the majority of decisions made are not based on gathered intelligence; rather, they are based on the preconceptions, opinions, or expectations of the decision makers. This chapter discusses how automated performance management systems work and how they can be used to help lead decision makers toward sound, constructive decisions.
