Every good performance consultants knows two fundamentally important issues in performance consulting. One is to establish rapport and build credibility with clients. The other is to ensure that performance consulting is linked effectively to the organization's business goals and that performance consulting is properly positioned as a result of organizational diagnosis. These issues are important enough to warrant treatment separate from that in other chapters. Hence, this Appendix culls them out for special examination and discussion.
