SECTION 5Close and Disband
When you reach the end of a project, you reach the end of a journey. When you close out a virtual teamwork endeavor, you close out a chapter of your life. Just as we insisted on a proper beginning for this journey, we encourage you to have a proper ending. Don’t pretend it’s just another “day in the life of.” It’s not.
Whether your virtual team continues past the life of your specific project or it disbands, take the time to reflect, celebrate, and honor yourselves for how far you’ve come. Then, shift from the past to the present and, from there, to a look ahead. Anything less undervalues what you’ve done and is a lost opportunity.
