This chapter introduces the payroll process, a series of programs delivered with PeopleSoft. These programs generate paychecks using settings for salary, deductions, taxes, special earnings, and garnishments.
A pay calendar specifies when checks should be written, and keeps track of them once they are created. We’ll look at the pay calendar table to get a better understanding of how the data is organized, and later, how PeopleSoft calculates each check and stores the results.
