CHAPTER 10Structured Query Reporting

This chapter introduces the Structured Query Reporting (SQR) programming language used for extracting data from the database, reporting, and writing files. We will look at how SQR uses Structured Query Language (SQL) to communicate with relational databases. The SQR tool has its own language and structure; when used with SQL, it can produce reports and files. You will learn SQR procedures, commands, and functions that will enable you to produce informative files and reports. PeopleSoft recommends that SQR be used only for reporting because application edits are not applied when data is changed using the SQL commands.
