The short-term approach of project recovery is necessary to preserve the corporate image and to survive, but it will not enable corporate growth in a competitive marketplace unless senior management is committed to a long-term, holistic project management approach. Without the long-term approach, senior management will be continually addressing the symptoms of project problems and never address the root causes.
