The Missing Link

To complete the foundation for our new structure we need to create one new organization: project management. To create this new function we will combine pieces of several already existing functions. From contracts we’ll take that portion of the effort that pertains to defining and controlling scope. We will leave those aspects of the effort that pertain to the legalities of contracting. From finance we will take those things that pertain to budgeting and cost control at the team/project/program level and leave those things that relate to overhead, taxes, payroll, and financial accounting in general.
