In today’s hypercompetitive business environment, professional project managers feel pressured to rapidly complete projects. The disciplined use of a project life-cycle model may help project managers overcome two key technical problems: 1) late identification or omission of key project components (such as risks, tasks, features, resource needs, personnel roles, and responsibilities), and 2) continued investment in a failing project.
