The Security Value of Complexity

Resilience, the ability to gracefully weather failure even after every attempt to detect and prevent it has been unsuccessful, is something of an overarching objective of the Security FORCE values. If resilience is the overarching goal of the FORCE Model, then complexity should be thought of as the soul of FORCE. The security value of complexity infuses and informs everything else, a way of looking at the whole world differently. Research into accidents, breakdowns, and HROs grew out of and in tandem with research into complex systems.
