Reading files from remote locations

PDI uses the Virtual File System (VFS), which allows you to connect to a variety of filesystems—for example, Amazon S3, HDFS, or Google Cloud Storage. In particular, when specifying a VFS URL instead of the traditional notation, you can refer to both local and remote files, which can also be stored in a compressed format, as shown in the example in the last section. In particular, starting with PDI 8.1, you can read content from Google Drive, which will be explained in the next section.
