One of the tasks that you can do with a job is sending emails. In this section, we will create a very basic job, so that you can learn how to perform this task; later in the chapter, we will use it in a practical example.
For performing this exercise, you will need access to an SMTP server, and at least one valid account to play with. For demonstration purposes, we will create a job that uses Gmail's SMTP server.
The following are the instructions for sending an email with a PDI job:
