Bill Van Besien is a software engineer whose work has primarily been in the realm of spacecraft flight software architecture, UAV autonomy software, and cyber security pertaining to space mission operations. Over the past several years he has developed software and served on the mission operations team for several NASA space missions. He holds a MS and BS in computer science, with a focus in cryptography and computer security. Bill splits his time between the spacecraft flight software group at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab and Nextility, a solar energy start-up in Washington, DC.
