2.2 ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTION KINETICS

Electrochemistry is a branch of chemistry that focuses on the studies of chemical reactions ­occurring at the electrode–electrolyte interface in a solution and involving charged chemical ­species or ions. Different from the thermodynamic view that is concerned with whether or not a chemical reaction proceeds spontaneously, reaction kinetics focuses on how fast or the rate a chemical reaction occurs.
