Grabbing a digital image is about more than knowing that hexadecimal bytes 63 68 65 65 73 65 spell out cheese. You need a digital camera to snap new images, or you can use a scanner to convert your old paper images (or slides) into digital images. The end goal is to get those images into the computer. Then you can enjoy them, send them to friends, or print them out on paper.

  • Refer to Chapter 16 for information on sharing digital photos.
  • Chapter 19 covers extracting images from a digital camera, phone, or tablet.
