3. Basic Current Laws

There are a few basic current laws that everyone should know. The first one may be intuitive based on the fundamental definition of current. Remember that current is the flow of electrons.

3.1. Flows in a Loop

If current is the flow of electrons, then current must flow in a closed loop. If current (electrons) flows out of some source (a battery, for example), then current (electrons) must flow back to that source. Consider the implications if this were not so.
