Foreword

Since the mid 1990s and into the new millennium, digital audio has evolved into a technology that actually comes close to its original vision of being a ‘recording studio in a box’. That’s to say, the digital audio workstation is (at its best) not only powerful, easy-to-use and cost-effective… but with the advent of faster processors, better programming and improved internal/external hardware devices, the DAW ‘digital audio workstation’ has finally become a master of system’s integration. By this, I mean that new breeds of digital audio editors are not only capable of handling such tasks as:
