Some people think, and indeed many are wrongly taught, that PRINCE2 is all about documenting projects. It’s not true that PRINCE2 is a documentation method, but having said that, quite a few things needed to control the project may well turn out to be documents. Try relying on your memory for all the risks and risk actions in a large, complex project if you’re not convinced. The problem when you’re learning the method is that there are quite a lot of ‘documents’ and many are very detailed. An even bigger problem is that you really need to know about these ‘documents’ to be successful in the PRINCE2 exams. In fact, your revision and knowledge are so crucial here that the ‘documents’ justify a whole chapter. If you’re not reading this late at night with eyes bleary from revision, you may have noticed that the word ‘documents’ earlier in this paragraph was in inverted commas.
