The PANAVISION PANAHEAD
The normal tilt range of the PANAHEAD is 30° up or down. It goes without saying that it can do a 360° pan around and around many times over. Three handwheel speed ratios make possible the full 30° of tilt in 15, 8 or 4 turns of the hand wheel respectively and a 360° pan in approximately 75, 41 or 21 turns.
The handwheel finger knobs can be preset in a precise position to suit a specific shot by returning the ratio selector lever to ‘N’ and setting the knob as required before finally selecting the desired ratio.
Note: It is very important to lock the tilt before setting the tilt selector to the ‘N’ position, or even passing through it.
