Light Efficiency

With a maximum shutter opening of 200° and a wide range of ultra wide aperture lenses ranging from T1.0 and T1.3 (Spherical) and T1.1 and T1.4 (Anamorphic) PANAFLEX cameras are the most ‘light efficient’ cameras available. At T1.0 and rating the film at El 500 less that 1 foot candle of light is necessary to give full exposure.

The 200° shutter passes 1/6 stop more light than a 175 – 180° shutter and only requires to be closed down to 100° to reduce the exposure by one full stop and to 50° to reduce one stop again. The minimum shutter opening on the PANAFLEX is 50°.

In addition to transmitting more light, the PANAFLEX 200° shutter opening reduces the possibility of image strobe during fast pan movements
