PANATAPE II Electronic Rangef inder

The PANATAPE II electronic rangefinder measures the distance from the film plane to a selected solid object which is (usually) placed centrally in front of the camera. It is intended primarily as a system to confirm distances which have previously been eye-focused or made with a tape measure, rather than as a principal means of measurement. It is particularly useful when the camera is tracking in or out on a subject, or vice versa.

In most cases the PANATAPE II has a range of 2–15’ (0.6–4.5m) with an accuracy of ±1" (25mm).
