Conventions Used in This Book

Italic is used for file names, functions, URLs, email addresses; text that you should type or write directly into the PalmPilot; emphasis; and to introduce new terms.

In many instances, bringing a particular option up on the Palm screen involves a trek through several menus and dialog boxes. To save paper and your patience, I’ll use a notation like this:

Tap Menu Options menu Start Recording OK button.

That notation means to tap the PalmPilot’s Menu icon; then tap the Options menu title; from the dropped-down menu, choose Start Recording; and finally, tap the OK button in the resulting dialog box. In other words, just tap the words shown as you see them appear on the screen.
