Executive Tip Summary

  • Any PalmPilot model, old or new, can do email. You may require a shareware program and a modem for the PalmPilot to do so, but it’s possible.

  • Each commercial Palm email program has distinct advantages. MultiMail lets you attach Palm applications, Quicksheet spreadsheets, Memo Pad pages, and many other kinds of files to your outgoing email. One-Touch Mail lets you attach PalmPilot records — appointments, address book entries, to do items, and so on—to your email, which can then be automatically filed on the recipient’s palmtop. ProxiMail (which is free) offers the familiar features of Palm Mail—but gets your mail directly from your ISP account using a Palm modem. And Eudora for Palm correctly displays HTML-formatted messages, such as bold, italic, and underlined text.

  • If your PalmPilot email program offers a lookup feature that grabs email addresses from your Address Book, you can write the email addresses of everyone in an entire group on a single email-address field—just separate them by commas, or returns (depending on the program). Thereafter, choose the name of the group when addressing a message to have all of those addresses pasted into the “To:” field automatically.
