This chapter is a case study on how I used Corel Painter X to create San Francisco Heart (Figure 7.1), a Collage Portrait of San Francisco. The principles, strategies, workflow and techniques shared here can be applied to creating a Collage Portrait of any subject such as a person, a family, an animal, a vacation or trip, a place, an event or a city. My goal in sharing the creative path that led to this artwork is to inspire and empower you to create your own personal Collage Portraits.
