Even a long track record of working with an extremely diverse local IT crowd doesn’t guarantee that we can easily navigate the cultural differences brought in by offshore outsourcing. What is particularly amazing is that you may find significant multicultural challenges even if you outsource to a location you think you understand well. For example, I found that working with developers from my motherland was more difficult than I expected because the country had changed so much from when I lived and worked there.
