Using the SASEDOC LIBNAME Engine

The output objects created by ODS and stored in an ODS document store are usually just rows and columns of information—basically rectangular in structure. A special LIBNAME engine, SASEDOC, enables you to work with an ODS document store as if it were a data set.

The SASEDOC engine provides Read access to the document store, enabling you to treat the document store objects as data sets. You cannot write an output SAS data set to the library that points to an ODS document store. You can, however, rename and delete document stores with data set options. For example, you might want to simplify the object name for further reference by using PROC DATASETS.
